Where do you actually leave from?

Pier 9 at Dinner Key Marina in Coconut Grove. Our office address is on Washington Ave in Miami Beach, but every boat and ski leaves from the marina — put Dinner Key into your maps app on the day, not the office.

How long does it take from South Beach?

About fifteen minutes by car or rideshare. Mid-Beach runs closer to eighteen, downtown around ten. Parking is on site at the marina, so you're walking to the dock rather than hunting a space.

Why not book something that leaves from the Beach itself?

The water. Dinner Key sits behind Key Biscayne on the protected side of the bay, so it stays workable on days when the ocean side is too rough to launch. Operators over there sit at the dock on those afternoons; we don't.

How early should we turn up?

Fifteen minutes before your window. That covers vests, the safety briefing and any paperwork without eating into your time on the water.

How much do I pay up front?

Ten dollars per person holds the spot. The rest settles at the marina when you check in, along with tax and the marina fee.

What if I need to move the booking?

Reschedule free up to twenty-four hours ahead. Inside that window we'll still do what we can, but it depends on what's left on the board that day.

What happens if the weather turns?

We make that call, not you, and you're never charged for a day we cancel. You choose another time or take the deposit back.

What are member rates?

A membership gets you a lower rate on every activity, every visit. The prices shown as the member rate are what members pay; the non-member figure sits next to it so the difference is visible before you decide. Membership is bought separately — booking on its own doesn't apply it.

Do I need a licence to drive a jet ski?

If you were born after January 1, 1988, Florida requires a boater education card. The temporary certificate takes about twenty minutes online and our desk helps people through it every day.

Who's allowed to drive?

Eighteen and over on your own. Sixteen and seventeen year olds can drive with a legal guardian riding the same ski. Passengers of any age just need the vest.

Do I have to be able to swim?

Not for parasailing — you launch and land on the boat deck and never enter the water unless you ask. Jet ski and flyboard riders should be comfortable in the water. Everyone wears a vest regardless.

How young can kids join in?

Five for parasailing, the speed boat, banana boat and bay tour. Flyboard starts at eight. The bay tour has no upper or lower limit worth worrying about, which is why mixed-age groups tend to start there.

Will we see any wildlife?

Accepted Answer

Often. Manatees and dolphins live in this bay and show up regularly — but they're wild animals, so nobody can promise them on a given trip.
