Thirty minutes of somebody else driving fast while you hold on. It's the easiest thing on our list to say yes to — no certificate, no age minimum beyond five, nothing to learn. The boat runs out past the marina and opens up across the bay, and because this water is protected the ride is fast rather than punishing, which is the difference between fun and needing to sit down afterwards. It slots neatly beside a longer activity: people book it either side of a parasail flight to fill the day without committing another hour.

Frequently asked
Is this rough on the body?
Less than you'd expect. Protected water means the boat runs across the surface instead of hammering into swell. If anyone in the group has a back or neck issue, tell the captain and they'll take a gentler line.
Can young children ride?
From age five, seated with an adult. Everyone gets a vest before we leave the dock.
How much time should we allow?
About an hour door to door — thirty minutes on the water plus check-in and vests. It's the easiest thing to add to a day that already has something else in it.
